Looking for an easy way to spend a Saturday off screens, we chose a winter hike on the White Rocks Trail in Snow Canyon State Park—and it completely exceeded expectations.
Imagine our excitement when we discovered not just a waterfall, but a frozen waterfall!! What started as a calm family hike instantly turned into Christmas‑morning‑level enthusiasm. This trail is already a favorite in warmer months, but seeing it transformed by winter made it feel entirely new.
White Rocks never disappoints. It’s one of those places that somehow leaves you wanting to come back again and again, no matter how many times you’ve visited.
Worth a visit? Absolutely.

What’s better than a waterfall and white sand stone? A FROZEN waterfall and white sand stone!

Snow Canyon State Park recently added a new parking area, making access to the White Rocks Trail even easier. The park is also more dog‑friendly than ever. This hike offers incredible 360‑degree views from the moment you step out of your vehicle… and yes, our tiny man insisted on flip‑flops, even mid‑winter.

Jaw‑dropping views of a cinder cone volcano and the Pine Valley Mountains from the White Rocks Trail in Snow Canyon State Park.

The babies testing the physics of the frozen water. The verdict? Ice-skateable-ish, haha. They even managed a couple of well-balanced twirls!

A sweet surprise on the way home — we ran into a local beekeeper selling fresh honey right off the highway!!
Southern Utah Honey was incredible, and the Orange Blossom is our family favorite 🍯
