Goblin Valley State Park Utah | Utah Day Trip

Goblin Valley State Park Utah sandstone hoodoos rock formations desert landscape

On a recent trip to Moab, we noticed a turnoff for Goblin Valley State Park and decided—on a whim—to check it out.

The entrance fee was $20 per vehicle, and we opted to add a $15 drone permit—well worth it for the unique landscape views.

As we drove in, we passed campsites and even a few yurts, which immediately made us want to come back and stay longer. But nothing quite prepares you for that first view. Once we parked and walked up to the overlook, it genuinely felt like stepping onto another planet.

We quickly realized this was the perfect place for a game of hide and seek tag.

Goblin Valley State Park in Utah is known for its unique sandstone formations—often called “goblins”—that create a surreal, otherworldly landscape.

The drone showed us a whole new perspective!

These sand stone structures are some of the coolest we’ve seen in Utah!

We will definitely be coming back to Goblin Valley to explore more very soon!
